Doctor Gallagher retired from the Practice in September last year. She will be greatly missed and is wished a long and happy retirement from both the staff and patients at Alison Lea.

In October 2006, we were delighted to welcome our new partner to the Practice, Doctor Sarah McCready.

Patient Questionnaire
A recent questionnaire completed by patients attending the practice highlighted in particular, problems with the telephone system i.e. getting through to the practice first thing in the morning. This problem is at present being addressed and we are looking into replacing/upgrading our telephone system to hopefully alleviate this.

The questionnaire also highlighted problems with the appointment system. This unfortunately is experienced by all GP practices and we are trying our best to improve our appointment system. A few changes have been made so far, mainly the introduction of only booking two weeks in advance to try and ensure that appointments are available throughout the month. This is still in the early stages and we have had some positive feedback from the patients. We have also introduced Telephone Consultations, whereby patients can speak to the Doctor and perhaps save a visit to the surgery, leaflets explaining this service can be picked up from the surgery.
