Flu Clinics
There have been no reported delays with delivery of Flu Vaccines so far and we therefore expect to start administering flu vaccinations from 30th September onwards. If you are over 65y or have a chronic illness and are eligible for the flu vaccine then please contact the surgery to book an appointment for the flu clinic.

Dr Bennett
Congratulations to Dr Bennett who recently gained her Diploma in Dermatology.
Medical Students
The practice is to become a teaching practice for medical students from November 2008. The training of new doctors is obviously an important job and we hope that patients will support us when possible with this. We will initially be teaching 3rd year medical students. The only impact for our patients is that we may ask you if you would mind a student sitting in during your consultation with your usual doctor. They are bound by the same confidentiality rules as fully qualified doctors and your own doctor will still decide what treatments are appropriate for you. If you do not wish a student to sit in during your consultation then you will have plenty of opportunity to advise us of this and it will not affect your care in any way.
Yellow Fever Centre
We are currently in the process of applying to become a registered Yellow Fever Centre. At present patients who are travelling to foreign countries and require the Yellow Fever vaccine attend either Monklands Hospital or the travel clinic at Glasgow airport. Once we have been on the training course in January 2009 we will be able to offer patients from our practice and any local practices the vaccination for the usual fee.
