CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations to Dr Bennett on the birth of her son on 12th September. She and her family are well. Dr Paula Hendrie has now started as her maternity locum cover until March 2010.
INFLUENZA VACCINATION CLINICS
We have now got flu clinic appointments available to book in accordance with the annual flu vaccination campaign. Please contact reception for available appointment times.
SWINE FLU VACCINATIONS
We expect to receive the vaccine sometime in November and as soon as it is available we will be running swine flu vaccination clinics. The vaccine consists of 2 vaccinations 3 weeks apart. The governments intention is to administer H1N1 vaccinations to the following at-risk groups:
- Individuals aged between six months and up to 65 years in the current seasonal flu vaccine clinical at-risk groups
- All pregnant women, subject to licensing conditions on which is the appropriate trimester to administer the vaccine
- Household contacts of immuno-compromised individuals
- People aged 65 and over in the current seasonal flu vaccine clinical at-risk groups
SWINE FLU
Please DO NOT show up at the surgery if you have flu symptoms. Phone the practice or NHS 24 who will advise you on an appropriate course of action. You are subjecting other patients and staff to the risks of swine flu if you come into the practice whilst infectious.
APPOINTMENTS
Patients are reminded that if you contact reception then appointments can be made for up to 2 weeks in advance only. This is in order to reduce non-attendance rates.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
Please note that the practice will be closed on the following dates with cover provided by NHS24 as usual:

CARERS VISIT
Linda Craig will be available from 230 till 430 on 14/10/09, 18/11/09 and 9/12/09 to provide information to carers. Please contact Heather at reception for more details.
TELEPHONE SYSTEM
We are currently looking into ways to improve the telephone system due to several problems experienced with the current system. Please continue to let us know of any problems you encounter so we can report them to our phone provider.
C-CARD SCHEME
The scheme has been operating for a few months now and seems to be working well.
