Summer 2009
APOLOGIES
Apologies for the delay in the latest issue of our newsletter. In future we will aim to do quarterly newsletters unless there are any specific announcements out with this timing.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations to Dr McCready on the birth of her son Ryan on 9th May. Both she and her family are well.
MATERNITY LOCUMS
Dr Julie Browning has been employed to cover Dr McCready's duties whilst she is off on maternity leave. Dr Bennett is also due to go off on maternity leave in August and Dr Paula Hendrie will be covering her duties. We ask that whilst our partners are off on their maternity leave patients are sympathetic to the extra demands that are placed on the remaining partners. Dr Geddes and Dr Chisholm will do their best to accommodate patients needs but appreciate your co-operation in your contacts with our locum Doctors.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
Please note that the practice will be shut on the following dates with NHS24 covering General Medical Services as usual. Phone 08454 24 24 24.
- 20th July 2009
- 28th September 2009
STAFF TRAINING
In order to carry out staff training it has become necessary that the reception area will not be manned on the 1st Monday of each month from 1230 till 1330. Please be assured that emergencies will still be dealt with as usual during this time.
CARERS
Linda Craig, Carers Development Officer from South Lanarkshire Carers, will be visiting the practice on a monthly basis. Any carer wishing to speak to her can leave their contact details with a receptionist and Heather McKillop (receptionist) will then send a letter to the carer with the date and time of the appointment. Feedback from patients who have used this service so far has been very positive and they have found her to be a great source of support and advice.
C-CARD SCHEME
Dr Chisholm and Partners are now officially registered as a C-Card Centre which means that we provide free condoms in conjunction with NHS Lanarkshire. For more details please visit www.lanarkshiresexualhealth.org or call 08453 130130. Alternatively ask one of our receptionists for more information.
TELEPHONE SYSTEM
It has now been many months since the new telephone system was put into operation and generally the feedback has been very positive. Unfortunately we are aware of a few patients who have run into difficulties with the system. All faults are being reported to Commsworld. We would appreciate any feedback patients have with the system, both positive and negative to improve matters further.
